Here’s the thing about belly fat, it's stubborn, uncomfortable, and no one wants it.

These are three things that most guys over 50 do know about.

But, what most guys don't know is that it's much easier to burn belly fat when you have optimal levels of testosterone.

Below we're going to look at the easiest way to do this.

But before we do, it's worth knowing some facts about belly fat.

Because at the end of the day, that’s actually what we all want - great long term health.

The thing is, if activity levels or food choices haven't been great over the last few years, it's difficult to naturally keep belly fat off.

And the more fat that accumulates on the outside of your body (the bit you can actually see)...

..even more is accumulating inside your body.

This is called visceral fat.

Visceral Fat

The more visceral fat that you have, the more fat that is being stored in and around all your important organs.

You don’t need me to tell you how bad this is. Pause for a moment and just imagine this for yourself.

..fat surrounding your heart, stomach, and liver.

The longer this fat is left to increase the higher the chances of:

  • Sudden death from any cause
  • Stroke
  • Heart attack
  • High blood pressure
  • Type 2 Diabetes

I don't know about you, but I certainly don't want any of these - I’m pretty sure you don’t either, right?

The good news:

Although this is one of the most stubborn areas to shift fat from, it can be done.

Others have done it before.

So can you.

Remove All Soda

Sodas are some of the highest calorie containing drinks you could possibly have.

While this may be common knowledge for you, it certainly isn't for a lot of guys.

Not only are these super high in calories, but they are also known as empty calories.

This means they don't serve any purpose whatsoever, they have no:

  • Vitamins
  • Minerals 
  • Fibre
  • Or anything you need come to think of it.

They are just that - sugar water.

These calories are so easily stored by the body it's unreal.

Just making this one simple change can help make a huge difference.

Remove Estrogen Foods

Unfortunately these do exist.

And for one reason or another, they have crept into men’s food chain.

Should you have a diet that is high in estrogen dominant foods such as Soy, it will contribute to fat gain, especially in the abdominal area.

You see, us guy’s need optimal levels of testosterone for many reasons, one of which is to keep fat off.

When you have a diet that is too high in estrogen foods, this hormone increases in your body.

When this happens, testosterone levels tend to drop, especially in men over 50.

This can cause a whole host of issues. One of which is the build up of belly fat.

Carbohydrate Quality

I’m not suggesting that you remove carbohydrate from what you eat in order for you to lose belly fat.

Far from it.

In fact, I promote a wide range of carbohydrates in the Testosterone Blueprint

The key, however, is the quality of carbohydrates.

Reducing the amount of sugary and starchy carbs you eat will significantly reduce the amount of belly fat you currently have.

But, rather than avoid all carbohydrates, replace the sugary and starchy carbs with low GI carbs such as:

  • All greens
  • Carrots
  • Broccoli
  • Spinach

You still need carbohydrates.

Just the right kind and at the right time of day.

Reduce Stress

We should all be looking to reduce the amount of stress in our lives, even more so if your over 50 with belly fat.

I’m sure you’re aware of the health implications of high stress.

But, did you know that high stress can cause you to gain belly fat?

Turns out that high levels of stress causes internal inflammation.

When inflammation is high because of stress, an enzyme is released from the liver called C - Reactive Protein.

Trying to lose weight, especially belly fat when this is enzyme is circulating your body, is a tough uphill battle.

Reduce the amount of stress in your life and body, should be one of the first things you do.

You do not want other peoples problems when you first get up.

At least have your coffee and breakfast first, right?


Diary is a funny old food. Some love it, some hate it.

Others react fine with it and others burst out in all kinds of nasty things.

Me? I love it, but it hates me.

Anything more than a small amount sees me break out in spots on my neck, and my stomach becomes bloated.

I’m not going to tell you not to ever eat dairy again.

What I am suggesting is to remove it for an extended period of time, say 30 days.

During this time you should be able to identify if you have an issue with diary, even if you didn't think you did before.

Removing it for a 30 days or so, then adding it back into what you eat with thrown up any reactions.

You see, diary, especially milk, can cause inflammation in the body.

And just as we mentioned above, when this is high, losing any kind of weight is even more challenging.

Try removing it and replacing it with non dairy milk such as almond milk, or coconut milk. 

You may even prefer these.

Wrapping up

Wanting to lose belly fat is one of the most common areas for men to want to lose weight from.

And given the health implication of this type of fat, and the fact it's super uncomfortable, it should come as no surprise.

What may have come as a surprise to you is that it's not just about limiting the amount of food you eat.

It’s also about the quality of food and your daily habits.

The area of healthy eating is super confusing.

I get it.

And I understand where this confusion comes from.
